“We have a fairly modern cowshed, but needed to build on to it,” said John. “Putting a ramp up the back was part of this project. However the angled concrete here proved slippery for the cows – and we were having problems with them on it.”
The choice to run rubber matting on the ramp proved a successful one – so much so that John didn’t stop there. “After this worked well we decided to do further work – installing matting on the front and back of the shed on the herringbone entry and exits,” he said.
He appreciated the service too, which was “friendly – they were easy to deal with.” John added that “the installer did an excellent job too. Some people will try and lay it out themselves, and it can turn into a real mess.”
His response to the final result was very positive. “We are really impressed with the final outcome. We put it down not knowing quite what the result would be, and I’m happy to say that it was way better than we anticipated,” John said.
The response from the cows has been excellent too. “The flow of the cows is vastly improved,” said John. “Slipping cows slow everything down, so preventing this has been really helpful. They’re also far more relaxed on the matting,” he added.
