TopChip is an engineered wood chip made from untreated recycled timber that is designed for use as a playground safety surface. It has a fall safety rating of up to 3 metres and meets the latest New Zealand Safety Standards (NZS 5828:2015).
This presented a real challenge; adding warmth to the space was not going to be easy. With the addition of natural coloured surfacing and good use of textured artificial turf, Numat were able to establish a bright, playful mood within the space.
When JustKidz needed play surfacing for their newest early learning centre at Flat Bush, they weren’t completely sure how to approach the project. Numat was able to offer advice and guidance to get the perfect surface solution.
Equippers Early Learning Centre had a striking vision for their new centre based on stories from the Bible. Upon entering the centre’s grounds, the visitor is presented with a Pour’n’Play whale, with fully functional waterspout. Continuing into the space, there are soft artificial turf areas and as well as an Ark set in Pour’n’Play surfacing.
Kidspace were looking to improve flow, visibility and reduce noise at their centre. To do this, they settled on a design that called for new surfacing throughout the site. Numat were brought in to provide the surfacing which was a mixture of Pour’n’Play and PermaPlay Turf.
Young World’s outdoor space presented a challenge for the Numat team. Being laid out over two levels meant creating a large slope to connect the upper and lower spaces. The slope was surfaced with Numat’s Pour‘n’Play dual-pour surfacing – the safety surface allowing for the inclusion of an in-ground slide, rope climb, and rock climbing grips.
